EXCOM Teleconference Meeting Minutes – FINAL

Minutes:  Minutes for Jan 21, 2010 were approved.

Officer Reports

President – Jim Shannon: A review of the Adaptive Management plan put out by Obama administration is finished.  It will be voted on at the next WDAFS meeting.

Past President – Larry Dominguez: A determination of the dollar amount to contribute to the Western Division Endowment Fund will be postponed until after the 2010 conference.

President Elect – Mark Pedersen: 2010 is coming together well.  Plenary speakers are being lined up with two possible speakers.  Working on getting people who are signed up for abstracts to register.  Need to organize the volunteers around Erin to be prepared for registration.  Need to get items with chapter logos from Julie Henning and take them up to Nanaimo.  Action: Geraldine will find the items and take them to Nanaimo.  Half day training session with Vemco will be in a meeting room.  Interested people need to sign up, so an announcement should be sent out on the Listserve.  Decided to not print the abstracts unless the Pink & Chum folks would prefer them to be printed.  In lieu of printing the abstracts should go on the website as soon as possible.

Student Mentoring session will happen Tuesday evening prior to the Poster social.

Vice President – Mark Celedonia: No report.

Secretary/Treasurer – Erin Lowry: No report.

Newsletter Editor – Geraldine Vander Haegen: Geraldine will send out a listserve on Friday, Feb 5.

Assistant Newsletter Editor – Orlay Johnson: No report.

Old Business: Trout Unlimited is finishing plaque for Student research, and a representative will be there.

New Business:

Student Mentor Social at AGM 2010

Action Items for next meeting:

Action: Geraldine will track down the chapter logo items and take them to Nanaimo.

Action: A listserve will go out regarding student mentor social (Tad will write it up), nominations for open EXCOM positions, a reminder for raffle donations, and Mark P will write up an announcement regarding abstracts.
