2011 Annual Members’ Business Meeting Minutes – Final

September 5, 2011  Seattle, Washington

12:00 – 1:15pm

 

President’s Welcome and State of the Chapter – Mark Pedersen, Chapter President.

A summary of Chapter outcomes and accomplishments relative to AFS Goals and Objectives during the past year was presented.

Budget and Financial report - Erin Lowery.

The Chapter is in a sound financial position with checking, savings, and certificates of deposit totaling approximately $36,000.

 

Awards – presented by Jim Shannon, Mark Celedonia, and Mark Pedersen

Chapter awards attached. In addition, Jim Shannon and Erin Lowery were given special certificates for completion of their Executive Committee Service: Jim for four years as an officer and Erin for two years as Chapter Treasurer.

President: Mark Celedonia – The Seattle Annual Meeting generated member involvement not seen in a long time.  Mark emphasized that he would like to ride this wave and carry this high level of active member involvement into the coming year.

President-Elect: Yvonne Muirhead

Vice President: Brian Missildine

Past President: Mark Pedersen

Treasurer: Emily Pizzichemi – Emily expressed her excitement at being a member of such a great Excom.  This being her first year as a member of the Society, she is looking forward to working with and getting to know everyone, as well as sharing some of her new ideas.

Secretary: Lisa Harlan

Communications Officer: Orlay Johnson

Student Representative: Christopher Clark

 

New Business – Mark Celedonia

Planning a Fall Chapter gathering in October/November.

Goals include continuing effort to involve British Columbia members, and to increase student sub-units.

Suggestion submitted to try and utilize webinar technology at meetings for people who are not able to travel.
